U.S. Falls to Fourth in Global Competitiveness, Places Ninth in Per Capita GDP

The World Economic Forum released its report on global competitiveness. The United States slipped to fourth from first place just two years ago. While not a healthy trend, the difference between first and fourth is minor.

Switzerland came in first place, followed by Sweden and Singapore. Germany, Japan, Finland, Netherlands, Denmark and Canada followed directly behind the United States.
