Seems like once every few months we go through this exercise. Democrats make demands with regards to Government spending, Republicans threaten to shut down the Government, Democrats threaten Republicans with bad Press, GOP “leadership” caves, Democrats win.
Once again, dear readers, we have reached the Great Debt Ceiling Crisis! Yep, it’s only July and the Federal Government is already on the verge of running out of money. Apparently the FED hasn’t printed enough and Congress hasn’t authorized borrowing enough.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has drafted a letter that he is circulating amongst his colleagues saying that he will not pass a “continuing resolution” to fund the Federal Government beyond September 30th if the resolution includes funding for ObamaCare.
If POTUS truly cared about sparking growth & opportunity for America, he’d join growing chorus to #DefundObamacare http://t.co/eCjZbqKz5C

Erick Erickson over at Redstate.com has raised the alarm that Senate Minority Leader McConnell is actually urging his caucus NOT to join Senator Lee.

If nothing else, this confirms why Senator McConnell deserves to face a strong primary challenge next year. We need Republicans who will stand up to ever expanding Government intrusion into our lives. This may be the very last chance to defeat ObamaCare. If the only way to accomplish that is to shut down the Government then…
Shut. It. Down!
Most Americans likely won’t even notice and THAT is what the Big Government crowd really fears. If a Government shutdown occurs, and no one is seriously effected, then the myth of the necessity of Government intrusion into our lives is busted. Personally, I cannot say that anyone I know has been negatively impacted by the greatly feared sequestration. Maybe we need more of it.
By the way, here’s a link to Mitch McConnell’s primary challenger’s website.
