This video is very interesting as it shows the media blocking unapproved questions when being put on the other side of a microphone and camera. Jan Helfeld a long time Socratic method interviewer from ‘The Bottom Line’ shows this as he tried to secure a quick impromptu interview with Erin Burnett of CNN. Burnett is visibly uncomfortable when confronted to answer a question by someone she is unfamiliar with fumbling she said, ‘I can’t, which chan, i don’t know, PR, which channel are you from?’
It begs the question as to why the large media companies require PR approval before answering questions? An average person with a microphone and camera has to be legit and ‘approved’ before a media political pundit will be allowed to answer on issues they are paid very well to discuss daily.
Congrats to the persistence of Jan Helfeld in finally getting Burnett to answer about which candidate will reduce spending she without thinking naturally said ‘Ron Paul’.
