News that Isn’t News, Vol. 1

Welcome to the news that isn’t news, where we at Liberty Pulse aggregate the day’s most pointless information into one steaming pile of information so that you can focus on something other than a corrupt, fiscally reckless, constitutionally out of line government and its abuses!

Our first story involves extremely fat power couple Michael Moore and his wife of 21 years, Kathleen Glynn.  These two had such mass, such heft, and such clout thereof that halving their property won’t suffice to reach a whole. After all, when you’re investing in Halliburton stock while lambasting Dick Cheney, your portfolio tends to get as fat as your waistline! Michigan observers are predicting an absolute knock-down, drag-out fight over the deep freezer and its contents.

Rumors of Ron Paul campaign demise greatly exaggerated

TAMPA, March 31, 2012—In their mad dash to create the long awaited general election narrative, media outlets have pronounced Ron Paul’s campaign dead.

They now speculate about what his supporters may do when he drops out. The Associated Press reports that Romney has over ten times the delegates that Ron Paul has secured. Reuters reports that Paul is far behind in Wisconsin and that his supporters have finally conceded that he can’t win the nomination.

None of this is true. Romney has not secured 568 delegates. Hundreds of those delegates won’t be determined until Republican state conventions, many of which haven’t happened yet.

As I’ve reported before, there is very credible evidence that Ron Paul will emerge from those conventions with the majority of delegates in many states. Texas, New York and California haven’t even held their primaries yet. Those three states alone control over four hundred delegates.

CNN’s Erin Burnett ‘Public Relations has to Approve Before I Answer’ who will reduce spending? ‘Ron Paul’

This video is very interesting as it shows the media blocking unapproved questions when being put on the other side of a microphone and camera. Jan Helfeld a long time Socratic method interviewer from ‘The Bottom Line’ shows this as he tried to secure a quick impromptu interview with Erin Burnett of CNN. Burnett is visibly uncomfortable when confronted to answer a question by someone she is unfamiliar with fumbling she said, ‘I can’t, which chan, i don’t know, PR, which channel are you from?’

It begs the question as to why the large media companies require PR approval before answering questions? An average person with a microphone and camera has to be legit and ‘approved’ before a media political pundit will be allowed to answer on issues they are paid very well to discuss daily.

Congrats to the persistence of Jan Helfeld in finally getting Burnett to answer about which candidate will reduce spending she without thinking naturally said ‘Ron Paul’.

Out to Get Ron Paul – CBS Blowback, FCC Complaints and Jan Crawford’s Facebook Shutdown

by Kurt Wallace

Recently media types who blatantly attack Ron Paul have received spontaneous reactions from his supporters in what is being termed as Blowback Slammed. Bill O’Reilly knows this well, during his show he discussed the attacks  on his new book Killing Lincoln where he received over 900 one star Amazon reviews after excluding Ron Paul from his Presidential forum debate poll. Paul supporters shut down Bill O’Reilly’s Facebook page and the same has just happened to Jan Crawford of CBS. You can now go to her Facebook page but posting privileges for the  ‘everyone’ can post portion is no longer available after hundreds of posts were made condemning her for lack of integrity in reporting.

Saturday January 7th 2012, we exposed a story about CBS reporter Jan Crawford completely dismissing Ron Paul from her New Hampshire 2012 Campaign News Report and the reaction after. This Paul supporter blowback story went viral and many sites picked up the article including two financial news sites IBT and TheDailyCrux. An interesting layer to this ongoing story  is the financial websites helping to expose CBS media bias against a free market Austrian economist, champion of limited government and Presidential candidate serious about cutting government spending back to 2006 levels.

Paul supporters are also fighting back by filing FCC complaints against Jan Crawford and CBS.

Matthew Reynolds writes:

Jan doesn’t respond to criticism and neither does the president of CBS… Perhaps the sponsors should hear of our dissatisfaction with CBS News… I don’t want to buy products that support media bias.

Hello Mrs. Tellem (nancy.tellem@tvc.cbs.com),
I wrote you a few days ago regarding a report Jan Crawford aired which failed to mention the 2nd place polling candidate- Ron Paul. I also placed a call to Mrs. Crawford, which went to voicemail. I understand she is out of the office on assignment and I will give the benefit of the doubt that she is unable to check messages while away. However, the lack of response by you and/or anyone at CBS is infuriating and will not be tolerated. I am now filing complaints with the FCC and will follow up with complaints to CBS sponsors. Mrs Tellem, you may not have any respect for the citizens of this country, your sponsors or journalism in general, but the viewers deserve more credit than you have given them. This will not go away. Thanks for your time, Matt R

Liberty Pulse has tried to contact Jan Crawford for comment and her voice mail box is full. We did reach Al Freeman at CBS in Washington DC, he stated that CBS would not be willing to comment on the FCC complaints filed against them in this matter and that Jan Crawford was on the road covering the Republican Primaries and would not be available for comment.

An excellent article ‘The People vs. CBS’ – Are Corporations People?‘ discusses the FCC complaints in great detail asking the question:

Does a corporation have the same rights as a Person in the United States; protected by the Constitution?

and pointing out:

Today, the information on Crawford’s wikipedia entry ends like this:  “This unscrupulous action immediately prompted allegations of bias and intentional misrepresentation; many commentators suggested that Crawford’s puzzling decision to exclude Paul from the poll results was unethical and violated journalistic standards. Crawford has refused to respond to these allegations, and neither Crawford nor CBS has apologized for her misfeasance.[4]“

The real story here is that Paul supporters are proving that the power of the internet can and is exposing the absurd nature of media bias. I did a radio interview in November of 2007 with Judge Napolitano about his book A Nation of Sheep where he explains we have two types of people Wolves and Sheep, he elaborated to my audience that we need more ‘Wolves’ as watchdogs in the media, a new fourth branch of government. Could it be these ‘Wolves’ have been rediscovered in the new media? Is the Ron Paul Revolution showing the world that spontaneous free market style exposure through truth or consequences via the internet demonstrates that they could be the de facto new Wolves or watchdogs for Liberty that Napolitano describes?

Time will tell whether Paul supporters can really be a force but as his numbers continue to rise and the relentless bias continues by the old media this could be the beginning of a new era of reverse media gotcha moments brought to you by the world wide web.

We will continue covering these stories please consider subscribing to the Liberty Pulse free daily newsletter. If you have any information regarding FCC complaints and/or media bias please email us at Liberty@LibertyPulse.com.

CNN Gloria Borger Unintended Honesty Body Language Apologetic To Ron Paul

by Kurt Wallace

Yesterday, CNN reporter asked Ron Paul a series of questions in a fairly lengthy interview on a variety of subjects. At the end of this interview Gloria Borger asks Dr. Paul about newsletters written under his name that have racist content.  Ron Paul answers the question the same way he has every time he is asked about this subject.

However, this reporter was unable to accept his answers and continued to ask him about the newsletters, so finally in a soft tone Ron Paul says, “When you get the answers it’s legitimate that you accept the answers” and then he answers her a THIRD time “You know what the answer is I didn’t write them, I didn’t read them at the time and I disavow them, that is the answer” the genuine nature of Ron Paul left Ms. Borger demonstrating remorse for her badgering him as she began to question herself in her sheepish defense.

In the video below, listen to the tone of her response “It’s just a question it’s legitimate, it’s legitimate”. This exchange is telling, because of how Ron Paul’s honest demeanor is and how he brings out the unintended honesty of this reporter. Gloria Borger becomes even more apologetic, note her body language as she looks down, (SimplyBodyLanguage.com‘looking down means this person feels guilty, not wanting to face you.’)

At 2:50 in the video Borger says, “alright, alright thank you congressman, I appreciate your answer, I appreciate your answering the questions and you understand it’s our job to ask them” her body language continues with her hand gestures trying to convince Dr. Paul of her point. At 2:56 in the video Mr. Borger’s left hand goes to her heart/chest and according to:

Signs of Deception: Body Language of Lies:

• Physical expression will be limited and stiff, with few arm and hand movements. Hand, arm and leg movement are toward their own body the liar takes up less space.

• A person who is lying to you will avoid making eye contact.

• Hands touching their face, throat & mouth. Touching or scratching the nose or behind their ear. Not likely to touch his chest/heart with an open hand.

And according to:

The Guide for Body Language Chart

‘hand(s) on heart (left side of chest)Although easy to fake, the underlying meaning is one of wanting to be believed, whether being truthful or not. Hand on heart can be proactive, as when a salesman tries to convince a buyer, or reactive, as when claiming innocence or shock.’

What Gloria Borger’s body language may be saying, I realize I am interviewing a kind gentleman who is real and honest and I feel bad for what I just did.

After, Wolfe Blitzer then tries to soothe Borger by saying “It’s uh, It’s uh tough series of questions you asked him but uh you obviously had to ask them”

It’s clear that Dr. Paul finished the interview and calmly respectfully said thank you twice as Gloria demonstrated through her tone that she was apologetic.

Could it be that Gloria Borger had a fantastic interview with Dr. Paul discussing issues and receiving a refreshing set of clear answers unlike most politicians? Could it be that she actually respects Ron Paul and felt remorse for what she had done?
