Just like Johnny Mac and Rudy G leading up to 2008 and His Mittness in 2012, the Republican Party establishment seems to have found their “next” man. Sure, they’d love to go with someone like Jeb Bush. An old Patrician Republican with a name they know…unfortunately for them, all of America knows his last name too. It looks like the “sane” wing (you know, the one that has lost the last 2 Presidential elections) of the GOP is rallying around Chris Christie.
Like many Conservative activists, when Christie ran for Governor in 2009, I supported Conservative Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan in the Primary. Lonegan warned that Christie was a squish who would sell Conservatives out at the first opportunity. He was right.

At first, I liked the bombastic Christie. The Unions hated him, and that was a good sign. Then, Chris Christie realized he could be President if he played ball with the Establishment.
Charlie Dent is MY Congressman. It’s pretty well-known that I’m not his biggest fan. Personally he’s a nice guy but politically, he’s about as Conservative as, well, Chris Christie.
He is taking a firm stand for the Second Amendment and the anti-gun crowd is raking him over the coals for it. This particular piece of propaganda showed up on Facebook.
In response, Conservatives and Libertarians should give his office a call and congratulate him on a job well done on the 2nd Amendment issue.
His office number is (610) 770-3490
If you prefer, just use the contact form on his website.
I’m glad to see that even moderate GOP Congressmen (Dent’s Heritage Action scorecard grade is a dismal 37%) aren’t caving to the Soros funded left’s attempted gun grab.
Being suspected of a crime is not a reason to give up your Constitutionally guaranteed right to own a firearm. Heck, the Obama White House considers Tea Party members to be suspected terrorists.
Seems like once every few months we go through this exercise. Democrats make demands with regards to Government spending, Republicans threaten to shut down the Government, Democrats threaten Republicans with bad Press, GOP “leadership” caves, Democrats win.
Once again, dear readers, we have reached the Great Debt Ceiling Crisis! Yep, it’s only July and the Federal Government is already on the verge of running out of money. Apparently the FED hasn’t printed enough and Congress hasn’t authorized borrowing enough.
Freedomworks President and CEO Matt Kibbe is known for saying “sometimes you have to beat the republicans before you beat the democrats.” Truer words have never been spoken.
Since John Boehner’s close call, nearly losing his speakership after a revolt by a number of Tea Party affiliated Congressmen, I’ve been hoping that Liberty minded grassroots challengers would emerge for key Republican “leaders”.
Today Mitch McConnell got just such a challenge from Matt Bevin, a self-made multimillionaire businessman and Tea Party Activist.
In the wake of the George Zimmerman acquittal, Dear Leader marched down to the White House press room to claim that he could have been Trayvon Martin years ago. The Daily Caller promptly pointed out that President Obama and George Zimmerman have the same disapproval rating of 48%. Dear Leader could have been Trayvon Martin 35 years ago, but today Dear Leader is George Zimmerman. Dear Leader’s full remarks are here, courtesy of the Washington Post.
Dear Leader noted that many African-American men, including him, had been followed while shopping in a department store. Nearly all of those men are still alive because they didn’t turn around and begin slamming the head of the loss prevention officer into the floor. Dear Leader does not deny that black men are disproportionately involved in the perpetuation of violence, but he places that fact in context. Yes, context is important. One young black man wanted some Air Jordans, and he saw another black man wearing some Air Jordans, so he shot him in order to take his shoes. Context is everything.
When President Obama proclaimed “You know, if I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon”, he unnecessarily politicized a tragic event. He also completely missed the point.
Growing up, Barack Obama enjoyed many advantages that many African-American children will never know. He attended the prestigious Punahou Academy where he was one of only three black students. Barack Obama then went on to attend Occidental College and Columbia University.
President Obama’s children attend the very exclusive Sidwell Friend’s School in Washington D.C. Despite this school’s Quaker roots, it has no fewer than 11 security guards, not including secret service agents. Hardly a run-of-the-mill inner city education.
When it comes to corruption, cronyism and general muppetry in Washington D.C., the only real question is ‘where does one start?‘ Yet one has to start somewhere to conclude with a list of the ten most corrupt and despicable marionettes in D.C. Which is precisely what JudicialWatch has done in its annual compilation of the “Top 10 Most Corrupt Politicians in Washington D.C.” for 2011. And confirming what everyone knows, that both the left and right are merely irrelevant names for the same general social affliction, or should we call it by its true name – wealth pillage – the split is even between democrats and republicans. In no particular order, the winners of 2011 are…
- Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL)
- Former Senator John Ensign (R-NV)
- Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL)
- Rep. Laura Richardson (D-CA)
- Rep. David Rivera (R-FL)
- Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA)
- Rep. Don Young (R-AK)
- Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL)
And of course:
- Attorney General Eric Holder
- President Barack Obama
While a detailed look is really not necessary as we are quite familiar with everyone on ths list, here it is nonetheless?……………..
President Barack Obama has leveraged heavy rhetoric on the subject of transparency for some time now, even going as far as to publish on the official White House website that his “Administration is committed to an unprecedented level of openness in Government.”
If this is open government, I can’t begin to imagine what a closed government is. …
