Senate Republican Demint defies his leader to endorse Rand Paul
It’s another sign of the strength of the GOP dissident movement: DeMint’s endorsement puts him at odds with his Senate colleague and political boss, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky. As we already told you, McConnell is backing Trey Grayson, Kentucky’s secretary of state, for the Senate nomination.
Although they disagree about the Kentucky race, DeMint said of McConnell, “I support him as our leader.”..
