Sen. Toomey names Sen. Mike Lee as vice chairman of Senate steering committee

(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Senator Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) named U.S. Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) as vice chairman of the Senate Steering Committee, a caucus of conservative senators that includes the majority of the Republican Conference. Sen. Lee will begin serving in this role immediately.

“Sen. Mike Lee is a knowledgeable and principled movement conservative, and I’m very excited he is taking on the position of vice chairman,” said Sen. Toomey, the chairman of the Steering Committee. “It has been a privilege to work with Sen. Lee over the past two years and I have complete confidence that he will continue to excel as a leader in this role. With Mike and the other Steering members we will continue to work to advance innovative conservative principles.”
