Rasmussen: 47% Confident in U.S. Banking System
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that 50% are still not confident in the banking system.
These findings include 11% who are Very Confident and 16% who are Not At All Confident.
Sixty-eight percent (68%) were confident in the banking system in July 2008 before the Wall Street meltdown, but by February of last year that confidence was down to 39%. Confidence rose to 48% two months later but has remained slightly lower since then.
Only 30% of Adults are at least somewhat worried that their money will be lost due to a bank failure, with nine percent (9%) who are Very Worried. Nearly two-out-of three Adults (65%) say they are not worried that they will lose their money for that reason, including 18% who are Not At All Worried. These findings have remained relatively constant for the past couple years.
