I don’t understand these signs. Not just the fact that we’re spending money to pay for the printing and installation of them all around the country. But the fact that we’re doing it simply to prove that our “stimulus” money is being spent on stuff? Or is it to make me feel happy that my neighbor is getting some work out of the job?
I suppose it’s moderately effective. I suppose I’m happier that my street’s getting repaved than if an extra street in Nebraska did. But wouldn’t both the guy from Nebraska and I be happier if the money stayed in our own pockets to begin with?
