Out to Get Ron Paul – CBS Blowback, FCC Complaints and Jan Crawford’s Facebook Shutdown
by Kurt Wallace
Recently media types who blatantly attack Ron Paul have received spontaneous reactions from his supporters in what is being termed as Blowback Slammed. Bill O’Reilly knows this well, during his show he discussed the attacks on his new book Killing Lincoln where he received over 900 one star Amazon reviews after excluding Ron Paul from his Presidential forum debate poll. Paul supporters shut down Bill O’Reilly’s Facebook page and the same has just happened to Jan Crawford of CBS. You can now go to her Facebook page but posting privileges for the ‘everyone’ can post portion is no longer available after hundreds of posts were made condemning her for lack of integrity in reporting.
Saturday January 7th 2012, we exposed a story about CBS reporter Jan Crawford completely dismissing Ron Paul from her New Hampshire 2012 Campaign News Report and the reaction after. This Paul supporter blowback story went viral and many sites picked up the article including two financial news sites IBT and TheDailyCrux. An interesting layer to this ongoing story is the financial websites helping to expose CBS media bias against a free market Austrian economist, champion of limited government and Presidential candidate serious about cutting government spending back to 2006 levels.
Paul supporters are also fighting back by filing FCC complaints against Jan Crawford and CBS.
Jan doesn’t respond to criticism and neither does the president of CBS… Perhaps the sponsors should hear of our dissatisfaction with CBS News… I don’t want to buy products that support media bias.
Hello Mrs. Tellem (nancy.tellem@tvc.cbs.com),
I wrote you a few days ago regarding a report Jan Crawford aired which failed to mention the 2nd place polling candidate- Ron Paul. I also placed a call to Mrs. Crawford, which went to voicemail. I understand she is out of the office on assignment and I will give the benefit of the doubt that she is unable to check messages while away. However, the lack of response by you and/or anyone at CBS is infuriating and will not be tolerated. I am now filing complaints with the FCC and will follow up with complaints to CBS sponsors. Mrs Tellem, you may not have any respect for the citizens of this country, your sponsors or journalism in general, but the viewers deserve more credit than you have given them. This will not go away. Thanks for your time, Matt R

Liberty Pulse has tried to contact Jan Crawford for comment and her voice mail box is full. We did reach Al Freeman at CBS in Washington DC, he stated that CBS would not be willing to comment on the FCC complaints filed against them in this matter and that Jan Crawford was on the road covering the Republican Primaries and would not be available for comment.
An excellent article ‘The People vs. CBS’ – Are Corporations People?‘ discusses the FCC complaints in great detail asking the question:
Does a corporation have the same rights as a Person in the United States; protected by the Constitution?
and pointing out:
Today, the information on Crawford’s wikipedia entry ends like this: “This unscrupulous action immediately prompted allegations of bias and intentional misrepresentation; many commentators suggested that Crawford’s puzzling decision to exclude Paul from the poll results was unethical and violated journalistic standards. Crawford has refused to respond to these allegations, and neither Crawford nor CBS has apologized for her misfeasance.[4]“
The real story here is that Paul supporters are proving that the power of the internet can and is exposing the absurd nature of media bias. I did a radio interview in November of 2007 with Judge Napolitano about his book A Nation of Sheep where he explains we have two types of people Wolves and Sheep, he elaborated to my audience that we need more ‘Wolves’ as watchdogs in the media, a new fourth branch of government. Could it be these ‘Wolves’ have been rediscovered in the new media? Is the Ron Paul Revolution showing the world that spontaneous free market style exposure through truth or consequences via the internet demonstrates that they could be the de facto new Wolves or watchdogs for Liberty that Napolitano describes?
Time will tell whether Paul supporters can really be a force but as his numbers continue to rise and the relentless bias continues by the old media this could be the beginning of a new era of reverse media gotcha moments brought to you by the world wide web.
