Early this morning 2002 American Idol winner and 2006 Grammy Award winner Kelly Clarkson has thrown her support to Congressman Ron Paul. Recognizing that many people are unfamiliar with the principled doctor from Texas who isn’t embraced by the establishment GOP or the main stream media:

I love Ron Paul. I liked him a lot during the last republican nomination and no one gave him a chance. If he wins the nomination for the Republican party in 2012 he’s got my vote. Too bad he probably won’t.

Clarkson began to receive a lot of comments from her fans. She then engaged her fans by tweeting about real problems America faces with our foreign interventionist policies which is in line with Ron Paul:

we shouldn’t try & help/tell other countries how to solve their issues w/the poor when we can’t even solve our own.

Clarkson let everyone know she is a registered Republican but that she is independent in her decisions on who to support:

I am a Republican but I actually voted Democrat last election.

After several tweets Kelly began to get some heat from fans that have a limited knowledge of Ron Paul many who think he is a racists or hates gay people. Ms. Clarkson began defending the congressman to hopefully steer people to investigate for themselves the real man vs. the media attacks, she said,

I have never heard that he’s a racist? I definitely don’t agree with racism, that’s ignorant. I have never seen or heard Ron Paul say anything against gay people? I love all people and could care less if you like men or women. I have never heard that Ron Paul is a racist or homophobe? I am really sorry if I have offended anyone. Obviously that was not my intent. I do not support racism. I support gay rights, straight rights, women’s rights, men’s rights, white/black/purple/orange rights. I like Ron Paul because he believes in less government and letting the people (all of us) make the decisions and mold our country. That is all. Out of all of the Republican nominees, he’s my favorite.

Obviously, her fans who tried to challenge her will not be able to find anything that is racist or homophobic coming from Ron Paul’s mouth. Hopefully, this will inspire fans to learn more about Dr. Paul. After ongoing tweets from upset fans, Kelly then tried to reason with some of the most disgruntled Justin Courtney said:

@kelly_clarkson Conservative is the opposite of progressive. Ron Paul is a conservative…and a racist, misogynist, homophobe.

Even though Ron Paul supports ending wars overseas and ending the war on drugs (both progressive platforms) Justin Courtney wasn’t happy, Clarkson replied:

@Jcourt3 I respect your opinion and I am about progress. Ron Paul is about letting people decide, not the government. I am for this.

Clarkson also engaged another fan in response to the death penalty which she agrees with Ron Paul:

I don’t believe in the death penalty. Most Republicans do but not me.

After receiving many hateful responses from people who either don’t understand or are unwilling to understand Ron Paul’s principled positions, Kelly let everyone know:

Man, seriously such hate coming from your tweets. This isn’t a healthy way to be heard. Say what you’d like without the hate. Man my eyes have been opened to so much hate tonight. If y’all ever disagree with something I say please don’t feel the need to attack me. I will listen to what you say and any articles or viewpoints you have when you say it with respect. Being hateful is not a healthy way to get people to see or hear you. I was raised to respect people and their decisions and beliefs and I hope you will grant me the same decency. If you don’t agree with me simply unfollow me. It’s really that easy. I hope you don’t because I would love the chance to hear what you have to say but if you’re so blinded by hate you can’t seek peace and progress then that is your unfortunate prerogative.

Telling one fan to stop following her:

this is demeaning & rude, please don’t waste any more of your time and don’t follow me if you are going to continue like this

Kelly Clarkson has demonstrated that she understands the issues and isn’t shallow in her support of a candidate. She agrees with and defends Ron Paul letting her fans know that there is more to him than they may be getting from the media and spin doctors who want to paint the congressman in a negative light. We commend her for being courageous, she obviously practices what she sings…

Her song is fitting for Ron Paul he is obviously very strong to put up with the Washington BS for over 30 years and still stay true to his message.

Any one who thinks Paul is racist is really ignorant.

From Ron Paul’s book, “The Revolution:  A Manifesto”   He stated on page 64, “In the long run, the only way racism can be overcome is through the philosophy of individualism which i have promoted throughout my life.  Our rights come to us not because we belong to some group, but our rights come to us as individuals.  And it is as individuals that we should judge one another.  Racism is a particularly odious form of collectivism whereby individuals are treated not on their merits but on the basis of group idenitiy.  Nothing in my political philosophy, which is the exact opposite of the racial totaliatarian of the twentieth century, gives aid or comfort to such thinking.  To the contrary, my philosophy of individualism is the most radical intellectual challenge to racism ever posed.
Govenment exacerbates racial thinking and undermines individualism because its very existence encourages people to organize along racial lines in order to lobby for benefits for their group.  That lobbying, in turn creates animosity and suspicion among all groups, each of which believes that it is getting less of its fair share than others.
Instead we should quit thinking in terms of race…and recognize that freedom and prosperity benefit all Americans…”

Reading it now.  In Canada, I call our Socialism “Dictatorship via Special Interest Group”

I remember reading that…There are other cites in his speeches and writing which clearly shows what he believes regarding individual freedom. He is certainly not someone that judges others based on anything other than their differences in principles.

You are spot on Jamokee! I love Ron Paul too and couldn’t care less about what the media says about him. The media lies and Fox isn’t much better either, I stopped watching them months ago. Talk radio denounces Ron Paul too, when it was talk radio that conditioned the public to see through the lies of the media, now they too want us to believe that Ron Paul is a racist. It’s just not true, so do I have to denounce talk radio too? The irony of it all. Do we want to save our country and the people of America or not? We are at the turning point. I love Ron Paul’s comment on pg. 64 of his book The Revolution: A Manifesto, and talk radio should TALK about Ron’s paragraph compared to Barrack Hussein Obama’s book “Dreams of my Father”, Barrack’s racist “white people” comments, Barrack’s whole book is racist. Again the irony! Did everyone forget Barrack Hussein went to a racist church for 20 years and said “they [white people] cling to their guns and religion? So let me see if I have this correct, Ron Paul who wrote “Instead we should quit thinking in terms of race…and recognize that freedom and prosperity benefit all Americans…” is being considered a racist but the President is not? The problem is everyone knows Ron Paul would make drastic changes in our government and they are afraid of this, not me. We need drastic change to save ourselves. As Ron Paul said ‘Who will save us?” My vote is for Ron Paul regardless, and if the GOP puts up the wrong person (Mitt or Newt) that the people obviously do not want, the GOP machine will be to blame if someone runs 3rd party. It would behoove the American people to wake up to reality.

Joe Rogan was a Paul supporter before any other celebs. I’m glad to see Kelly Clarkson making it happen for the good doctor. Ron Paul 2012.
