Impeach Obama Now Or Forever Hold Up Peace

Impeach Obama Now Or Forever Hold Up Peace

….I spoke recently with the president of a major national antiwar organization about the silence from his organization regarding a call for impeachment of President Obama and he told me that the reason he and his organization are against applying the same standard of impeachment in their public call for accountability to President Obama, even after his recent attack on Libya, as they had so strongly applied to President George W. Bush in regards to his war on Iraq, was the possibility of groups that were

Rasmussen – 51% Want All U.S. Troops Out of Afghanistan Within A Year

President Obama this week announced that the United States will withdraw 10,000 troops from Afghanistan this year and will bring another 23,000 home by the end of next summer. But most voters don’t think the president has gone far enough.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 51% of Likely U.S. Voters want all U.S. troops out of Afghanistan within a year, with 31% who want an immediate troop withdrawal and another 21% who want a firm timetable for full withdrawal within one year.

This combined total is consistent with findings since March which marked the first time a majority of voters favored full withdrawal within a year. That was up from 39% in September 2009 and 43% last September…

Barney Frank and Ron Paul Introduce Marijuana Legalization Bill

Barney Frank and Ron Paul Introduce Marijuana Legalization Bill

Representatives Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Ron Paul (R-Texas) introduced a bill Thursday that would end federal prohibition of marijuana production, distribution and possession.

The unlikely pair teamed up to support the Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act, which would leave it up to states to make their own laws regarding the drug and, if enacted, would redefine the federal government’s War on Drugs, which turned 40 last week.

“The legislation … focuses federal law enforcement on violent criminals and organized crime instead of marijuana offenders, and saves taxpayer money,” said Bill Piper, Director of National Affairs for the Drug Policy Alliance…

TSA Puts Man with Urine Bag in Tears and What Airport Scanners Can See

TSA Puts Man with Urine Bag in Tears and What Airport Scanners Can See

What Airport Scanners Can See – You’ve heard the stories – from retired special education teacher Tom Sawyer’s urine accident to Cathy Bossi’s prosthetic breast removal, it’s clear that the TSA is not appropriately implementing their new security measures in accordance with their own regulations – and the American people are not taking the new checkpoint pat downs and body images lightly.

Backlash against the TSA’s new security measures is growing at an alarming rate. Stories like that of Tom Sawyer, a retired special education teacher who was left covered in his own urine at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport this month after TSA agents forced him to undergo an aggressive pat-down, are becoming more like common conversation than they are atypical complaints. Tom Sawyer recently revealed in public interviews that he was reduced to tears when TSA agents forcefully patted him down without listening to him. Tom, a bladder cancer survivor, says he tried numerous times to inform the TSA that he wears a urostomy bag, which collects his urine from an opening in his abdomen.

“I have to wear special clothes and in order to mount the bag I have to seal a wafer to my stomach and then attach the bag. If the seal is broken, urine can leak all over my body and clothes,” says Sawyer, who was on his way to a wedding in Orlando, Fl., on November 7th when his urostomy bag set off the security scanner…

U.S. to release oil from strategic reserve

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — The U.S. Department of Energy said Thursday it will release 30 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to alleviate Libyan supply disruptions — driving already sinking prices lower.

The release, which will be done over 30 days, represents half of a 60 million barrel supply hike announced by the International Energy Agency, which includes the United States as one of its 28 member nations.

The world consumes 87.5 million barrels of oil a day. Of that total, the United States consumes about 19 million barrels per day, according to Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at the Oil Price Information Service…

U.S. Jews Not Able To Fly On Delta Flights To Saudi Arabia

U.S. Jews Not Able To Fly On Delta Flights To Saudi Arabia

JERUSALEM (RNS) Jews and Israelis, or passengers carrying any non-Islamic article of faith, will not be able to fly code-share flights from the U.S. to Saudi Arabia under Delta Air Line’s new partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines that is set to begin in 2012.

Although Delta announced in January that the Saudi airline would join its SkyTeam network next year, the implications of the deal only came to light recently, according to people who have scrutinized the details.

Saudi Arabia, which is governed by strict Islamic law, requires citizens of almost every country to obtain a visa. People who wish to enter the country must have a sponsor; women, who must be dressed according to Saudi standards of modesty, must be met at the Saudi airport by a man who will act as a chaperone…
